Tuesday 26th January

This week's ladies competition was Texas Scramble held over 13 holes in pairs. The winning pair were Anne Greenhough & Ann Taylor who had a score of 49. 2nd place went to Jennifer Hart & Elaine Jenkins who finished with 49.8. Third place went to Val Floyd & Fiona Goddard who had 50.2 over the 13 holes.

Thursday 28th January

55 entrants played in this week's Stableford Thursday competition held over 18 holes. The winner was last week's winner Greg Ball who had a great score of 42 Points to win on a card playoff and reduce his Thursday winter handicap down to 9.7. Clearly a man in form! In runner up spot was Peter Hutchinson who also had 42 Points after losing out on a card playoff and reducing his Thursday winter handicap down to 10.7. Third place went to Lester Scott who had 39 Points, reducing his Thursday winter handicap down to 16.7. Fourth place went to Andrew Evans who had 38 Points. Finally fifth place went to Ian Clarke also with 38 Points to lose out to Andrew on a card playoff but beat five others on a card playoff.

Saturday 30th January

This Saturday competition was a 16 hole Betterball Stableford with 146 players turning out to compete. The winning team, with a fantastic score of 40 Points, was Steve Whitfield & Tony Owen to win by two points. The runners up were John Darbyshire & Mike Reid who managed 38 Points. Third place went to Clive Aldred & Ric Arber who also had 38 Points losing out on a card playoff. Fourth place went to Frank Todd & Steve Tetlow who had 38 Points after being beaten on a card playoff. Fifth and final place went to Bert Rigby & Stan Marrs who also had 38 Points after losing out on a card playoff.
