Sunday 3rd April

This Sunday saw the drive in of the Junior Captain Ben Wallis off the 11th tee. Ben managed a very good 259 yards into the wind straight down the correct fairway this time!

Tuesday 5th April

This week's ladies competition was a Stableford with 49 players competing. The winner of Division 1 was Georgina Hales who had a great score of 40 Points to win by 3 points and reduce her handicap down to 8.6. Runner up went to Val Wickens who had 37 Points to reduce her handicap down to 6.7. 

The winner of Division 2 was Dilys Peake who had 37 Points which reduced her handicap down to 24.7. Runner up was Rhona Banks who had 34 Points. The winner of Division 3 was Cheryl Thorpe who had 31 Points. Runner up spot went to Shirley Warner who had 28 Points. The winner of the nine hole competition was Sylvia Bennett who had 10 Points.

Thursday 7th April 

This week's Thursday competition was cancelled due to heavy rain causing the majority of the greens to become unplayable.

Saturday 9th April 

This week's Saturday competition was the Remembrance Trophy which was being replayed as it was cancelled last November due to bad weather. Tough conditions were the story of the day with the course playing very long and it was off the white tees. Blustery winds, hail and heavy showers made scoring very difficult with the standard scratch going up to reductions only! 184 players competed with the winner being John Hopkins who had a score of 82 - 13 = 69 Nett to win on a card playoff and reduce his handicap down to 12.0. Congratulations go to John for a hard fought victory! 

Runner up spot went to David Wilkinson who shot a 75 - 6 = 69 Nett to lose out to John on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 5.2. Third place went to Andrew Mackenzie who had an 80 - 10 = 70 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 8.7. Fourth place went to Andy Prince who shot an 82 - 12 = 70 Nett to lose out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 11.1. 

Fifth place went to Chris Bate who had a 77 - 6 = 71 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 5.3. Sixth place went to Paul Harrison who had a 78 - 7 = 71 Nett to miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 6.7. Seventh place went to Tony Marsden who had an 85 - 14 = 71 to also miss out on a card playoff and reduce his handicap down to 13.1. Eighth and final place went to Jeremy Bradburn who had an 81 - 9 = 72 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 8.4.
