Hello golfers,
Tuesday 12th April
This week's ladies competition was the Coronation Foursomes with the winner being eligible to compete in the Area Final of the Peugeot LGu Coronation Foursomes at Withington GC and also the Australian Spoons North Region final at Warrington GC. 54 ladies competed and the winning team was Edwina Greenwood & Paula Hodkinson with a great score of 38 Points. The runners up were the team of Barbara Bradley & Gill Clare with a score of 33 Points.
Thursday 14th April
This week's Thursday competition was another Yellow Tee Stableford with 59 players competing. The winner was Ian Potter with a very good score of 42 Points to reduce his handicap down to 22.0. Runner up spot went to Dave Fisher who had 40 Points to reduce his handicap down to 9.6. Third place went to Richard Hamilton who also managed 40 Points after losing out on a card playoff to reduce his handicap down to 5.1. Fourth place went to Nathan Beesley who had 39 Points to reduce his handicap down to 12.3. Fifth and final place went to Mark Wilding who had 38 Points to beat Carl Briggs on a card playoff to sneak into the prizes and to reduce his handicap down to 4.0.
Saturday 16th April
This week's Saturday competition was an Individual Stableford with 172 players competing. The winner of Division 1 was Andrew Hilditch who had a great score of 42 Points to reduce his handicap down to 5.2. Runner up spot went to Adam Mannion who had a score of 40 Points to reduce his handicap down to 5.0. Ray Moor came third with a score of 39 Points to reduce his handicap down to 11.5. Fourth place went to Paul McGarry who had a score of 38 Points to beat two others on a card playoff and reduce his handicap down to 10.2.
The winner of Division 2 was junior Aaron Beesley who had a score of 39 Points to reduce his handicap down to 15.0. Runner up was Andy Mason who had a score of 38 Points to reduce his handicap down to 13.4. Third place went to Ken Waters who also had a score of 38 Points to miss out to Andy on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 22.1. Fourth place went to Joe Capstick who had a score of 37 Points to reduce his handicap down to 23.4.
Congratulations go to Tony Shaw who had a hole-in-one on the 13th Hole. Apparently the ball flew straight into the hole without bouncing, which is also known as a slam dunk!
