This weeks Ladies Competition was the Olive Ashton Plate and 57 players took part. The winner was Val Wickens with 40 points which reduced Val's handicap to 5.3. In second place with 36 points was Liz Faulkner who reduced to 8.2. Third place went to Fiona Goddard with 35 points on a card playoff from Pat Maycock in fourth who also had 35 points. Finally in fifth place after a card playoff was Anne Smith with 34 points. The Ladies 9 Hole Stableford was won by Mabel Atkinson with 9 points.
Thursday 1st September
This weeks Thursday competition was a Strokeplay from the white tees. 88 players competed. The first five places were determined on a card playoff with all five players with nett 68. The winner was Mark Hunter with 78-10=68.In second was Andy Hilditch with 74-6=68. Third place went to John Culleton with 79-11=68. In fourth was Mark Wilding with 72-4=68. And finally in fifth was David Curry with 80-12=68. Congratulations to Mark Bell with his first hole in one which came on the 16th.
Saturday 3rd August
This weekends competition was the September Medal and Isherwood Qualifier.The weather played a big part in a reduced turnout of 112. The winner of the Monthly Medal and also first in Division One was James Garside who played in the afternoon and scored a fantastic 76-12=6. In second was Clive Aldred with 77-11=66. In third place was Richard Evans with 77-9=68. Fourth place went to Adam Prinsep with 71-2=69. The winner of Division Two was Owen Pennington with 95-28=67.In second place was Peter Davies with 84-15=69.In third was Dave Cornwell with 85-14=71. And finally in fourth place was John Greaves with 86-14=72.
