Competition news 

Tuesday 6th September 

This ladies competition was a Medal and LGU Brooch. The winner of Div 1 was Val Wickens with 77-6=71. The winner of Div 2 was Rhona Banks with 95-26=69. Third Division winner was Shirley Warner with 107-31=76. The winner of the LGU Brooch was Rhona Banks. Thirteen ladies entered the nine hole individual stableford competition with Andre Hillas being the winner with a score of 18 Points.

Thursday 8th September 

This week was a Stableford from the yellow tees, 88 players competed. The winner was John Hill who had a score of 40 points. Runner up was Frank Todd who had 40 points. Third place went to Derrick Todd with 40 points. Fourth place went to Guy Hindle with 39 points. Fifth place went to Barry Jones with 38 points.

Saturday 10th September 

This week's Saturday competition was the first round of the Fairclough Trophy. A total of 161 players took part. A. The leader after round one was John Banks with an incredible 78-17=61. Second was Keith Rodgers with 75-9=66. And in third place was James Eaves with 71-3=68. Fourth was Phil Adlem with 74-6=68. Fifth was Steve Carrol with 74-5=69.

Tuesday 13th September 

This weeks competition was the Club Trophy. 33 ladies took part. The winner was Edwina Greenwood with a score of 2up. In second was Anne Smith with 1up and in third was Sarah Loy also with 1up. The ladies nine hole was played by 6 women. The winner was Joyce Dennis with 13 points.

Thursday 15th September 

This week was a white tee Strokeplay. 80 players took part. The winner was Ian Paginton with 77-12=65. Second was Wayne Seed with 79-13=66. Third was Dave McCabe with 83-16=67. Fourth was Kevin O'neill with 77-8=69. Finally in fifth was Guy Hindle with 68+1=69.

Saturday 17th September 

The second round of the Fairclough Trophy was played. 149 players took part. The winner after his fantastic first round was John Banks with 61+74=135. Second was Mark Wilding with 72+67=139. Third was Lester Scott with 71+68=139. Fourth was Greg Ball with 71+68=139 and in fifth was Peter Hutchinson 68+71=139.
