Knockout Entries 

A reminder that entries are now being taken in the Pro shop for the following knockout competitions for the upcoming season: 

Men's: Match Prize, Swinton Trophy & Scratch knockouts. 
Mixed: Scott Trophy 
Ladies: Lyon Trophy and Sloane Bowl.


Competition news 

Tuesday 8th March 

CaptainsThe ladies turned out in force on a beautiful Tuesday morning to support the new Lady Captain Sue Tranter when she drove into office. 

The ladies played a friendly match between a team representing the Lady Captain and the other supporting the Lady Vice Captain. The result of the match was a victory for the Lady Captains team 9 to 8 with all the other games halved.


Thursday 10th March 

This week's Thursday competition had 57 players competing over 18 holes. The winner was John Culleton who managed a great score of 43 Points to win by 4 points. This reduced John's winter Thursday handicap down to 8.6. 

Runner up went to Phil Rylance who had 39 Points which reduced his winter Thursday handicap down to 11.8. Third place went to Andy Gordon who also had a score of 39 Points to miss out on a card playoff. This reduced his winter Thursday handicap down to 10.5. 

Fourth place went to David Curry who also had 39 Points after losing out on a card playoff. Fifth place went to Mike Ashcroft who also had 39 Points to lose out on a card playoff but beat two other players into the prizes.


Saturday 12th March 

This week's Saturday competition was a Betterball Stableford with 183 players competing over 18 holes. The winning team was Steve Ball & Nick Shannon who had fantastic score of 48 Points to win on a card playoff. The runners up were the pairing of Tom Donaldson & Peter Edmonds who also had a score of 48 Points to lose out on a card playoff. Third place went to Martin Barrett & John Edelston who had 47 Points. 

Fourth place went to Trevor Rigby & Tony Salt who had 46 Points which included a hole-in-one on the 13th for Tony - congratulations! Fifth and final place went to Paul Guest & Dave Merrell who also had 46 Points to lose out on a card playoff but beat one other team on a card playoff.
