This week's ladies competition was the Lady Vice Captain's Day with 58 players competing. The winner of was Sarah Loy who had an excellent score of 40 points to reduce her handicap down to 11.7. Runner up went to Fiona Goddard who had a score of 37 points to reduce her handicap down to 11.6. Third place went to Janet Jagan who had a score of 36 points. Fourth place went to Elaine Jenkins who also had a score of 36 points.

The winner of the nine hole competition was Audrey Clarke who had 15 points.

Thursday, 11 May 2017

This week's Thursday Yellow Tee Stableford was another busy one with 127 players competing. The winner was Mark Wilding, who had a great score of 41 points to win, and to reduce his handicap down to 3.2. Runner up was Paul Hamilton, who also had 41 points to lose out on a card playoff to reduce his handicap down to 18.9. Third place went to Jon Barker who had 40 points. Fourth place went to Phil Rylance who also had 40 points after losing on a card playoff to reduce his handicap down to 13.2. Fifth place went to Steve Carroll who also had 40 points to lose out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 4.8.

The winner of the nine hole competition was Bill Hart who had 16 points to win on a card playoff.

This week's Saturday competition was a board competition with the Vice Captain's Prize being competed for by 172 players. The winner was Paul McFerran who had a great score of 66 - 0 = 66 nett, to win on a card playoff and reduce his handicap down to +1.0. Congratulations go to Paul who had a great back nine of five under par. Runner up was Chris Bate who shot a 71 - 5 = 66 nett, to lose out on a card playoff, but reduce his handicap down to 4.0. Third place went to Jonathan R Lawson who shot a 72 - 6 = 66 nett, to also lose out on a card playoff, but reduce his handicap down to 4.9. Fourth place went to Phil Moreton who shot a 69 - 2 = 67 nett, to reduce his handicap down to 1.2. Fifth place went to Danny Mills who had an 84 - 17 = 67 nett, to miss out on a card playoff, but reduce his handicap down to 15.3.

Sixth place went to Paul Swift who shot a 73 - 6 = 67 nett, to miss out on a card playoff, but reduce his handicap down to 5.1. Seventh place with the lowest gross went to Jake Hibbert who shot a 70 - 2 = 68 nett. Eighth spot went to Mark Hunter who shot a 78 - 10 = 68 nett, which reduced his handicap down to 9.5. Ninth and final spot went to John Rutland who shot an 83 - 15 = 68 nett, to miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 13.6.
