24 Hours Golf
As many of you will be aware myself along with Julian Hurst, Steve Fathers, Chris Bate, Mike Haselden, Will Mackay, Adam Mantle and Adam Mannion played golf for 24 hours to raise money for Alder Hey Children's Charity and The Babygrow Appeal at The Countess of Chester Hospital on the 17th/18th June. We all managed to complete 101 holes overall with the blistering heat slowing us down slightly and I think we are all still recovering now. We all found it much tougher than we thought it would be, but it was worth it to raise so much money for two charities which are close to my heart.
I would like to say thank you to everyone who has donated, bought raffle tickets and played in the competitions that I ran on the Sunday. We are still receiving donations and I am pleased to announce that so far we have raised over £8000, which is fantastic as our original target was £5000. I must also say thank you to Mr Captain Ken Bradley and Lady Captain Sue Tranter who supported this event and to all the family, friends and members who came down to cheer us on, watch us finished and kept us fed and watered.
Many thanks,
Ben Spanton.
