The winner was Brad Read who had a great score of 67 – 0 = 67 Nett to win by one shot and reduce his handicap down to +0.4. Runner up was Richard Hamilton who had a score of 74 – 6 = 68 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 5.1. Third place went to Graham Scholes who had a score of 76 – 7 = 69 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 6.1. Fourth place went to Phil Cunningham who had an 81 – 12 = 69 Nett to miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 11.1. The winner of the 9 hole stableford competition was Tony Marsden who managed to score an excellent 22 points to win by one point and reduce his handicap down to 12.0. Saturday, 26 August 2017 This week's Saturday competition was the Monthly Medal & Isherwood Qualifier from August. The winner of Division one and the winner of the Monthly Medal was Eric Payton who had a great score of 78 – 12 = 66 Nett to win the division on a card playoff to reduce his handicap down to 11.1. The runner up and losing out on a card playoff was Graham Scholes who had a score of 72 – 6 = 66 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 5.2. Third place went to John Culleton who shot a 78 – 12 = 66 Nett to also miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 11.4. Fourth place went to Andy Hilditch who shot a 73 – 6 = 67 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 5.4. The winner of Division two was Stan Marrs who had a score of 89 – 22 = 67 Nett which reduced his handicap down to 20.0. Runner up went to Owen Pennington who shot an 89 – 22 = 67 Nett to miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 20.3. Third place went to Jennifer Hart who had a score of 85 – 11 = 74 Nett. Fourth place went to Penny Sadler who had a score of 95 – 21 = 74 Nett to lose out to on a card playoff. The winner was Iain Hope who had a great score of 45 points to win by one point and to reduce his handicap down to 21.0. Runner up was Phil Williams who had 44 points which reduced his handicap down to 9.7 after receiving an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5. Third place went to James Walsh who had 43 points to reduce his handicap down to 4.9. Fourth place went to Dave McCabe who also had 43 points to miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 13.5. The winner of Division one was Andrew Tidmarsh who had a great score of 42 points to reduce his handicap down to 4.1. Andrew had an albatross on the Par 5 17th hole! An albatross is much rarer than a hole in one and the odds of making one are estimated at one in 1,000,000! Runner up spot went to Andy Hilditch who had a score of 41 points to reduce his handicap down to 4.9. Adam Prinsep came third with a score of 40 points to reduce his handicap down to 1.2. Fourth place went to Ben Heath who had a score of 39 points to reduce his handicap down to 5.3.
