Tuesday, 26 September This week’s ladies competition a Par being the format. 39 players competed and the winner of Division one with a score of four down was Anne Greenshough who won on a card playoff. She was closely followed by Marie Stacey also with a score of four down. In Division two Liz Jones finished on top with one down followed by Barbara Whitfield with a score of three down and Tracy Petherbridge also with three down. The winner of the 9 hole competition was Mabel Atkinson with a score of 7 points. Thursday, 28 September This week’s Thursday Yellow tee Stableford had 65 players competing. The winner was Tony Salt who had a great score of 40 points to reduce his handicap down to 10.0. Runner up was Phil Rylance who had 39 points to reduce his handicap down to 13.4. Third place went to Ian Painton who had 39 points to reduce his handicap down to 8.7. Fourth place went to Frank Todd who also had 39 points to miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 11.2. Fifth place went to Nick Wild who had 38 points to reduce his handicap down to 9.7. The winner of the nine hole stableford competition was Richard Hamilton who had a score of 20 points to win by one point. Saturday, 30 September This week's Saturday competition was the last Monthly Medal and Isherwood Qualifier. The winner of Division one and the winner of the Monthly Medal was Ian Pethybridge, who had a great score of 75 – 5 = 70 Nett to win the Division on a card playoff to reduce his handicap down to 5.0. The runner up and losing out on a card playoff was Tony Osborne who had a score of 75 – 5 = 70 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 4.7. Third place went to Stuart Monro who shot a 76 – 5 = 71 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 5.0. Fourth place went to Steve Titchard who shot an 80 – 9 = 71 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 8.1. The winner of Division two was Mike Smith who had a score of 86 – 14 = 72 Nett which reduced his handicap down to 13.6. Runner up went to Warren Jones who shot a 93 – 21 = 72 Nett to miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 20.7. Third place went to Paul Guest who shot an 89 – 17 = 72 Nett to also lose out on a card playoff and reduce his handicap down to 16.2. Fourth place went to Mike Alcock who shot an 86 – 13 = 73 Nett. This reduced Jennifer’s handicap down to 10.7. Runner up was Liz Faulkner who had a score of 84 – 8 = 75 Nett. The winner of Division two was Sue Murphy who had a 97 – 23 = 74 Nett to reducer her handicap down to 23.0. The runner up was Janet Jagan who had a score of 109 – 34 = 75 Nett to reduce her handicap down to 33.3. The winner of the 9 hole competition was Kay Sutton with a score of 9 Stableford points. Thursday, 5 October This Thursday competition was a white tee medal with 52 players competing. The winner was Chris Webster who had a score of 68 – 3 = 65 Nett to win by five shots and reduce his handicap down to 2.0. Runner up was Ian Potter who had a score of 87 – 17 = 70 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 16.5. Third place went to Denis Walker who had a score of 89 – 18 = 71 Nett. Fourth place went to Peter Whitehurst who had an 82 - 9 = 73 Nett. Fifth place went to Alan Ellis who had an 80 – 7 = 73 Nett. The winner of the 9 hole stableford competition was Jim Gray who managed to score 19 Points to win by two points and reduce his handicap down to 23.0. Saturday, 7 October This Saturday's competition was the Isherwood Final & Medal. The winner with a great score of 73 – 6 = 67 was David Dixon who won it by four shots. Congratulations go to David for this victory which reduced his handicap down to 5.5 after receiving an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.3. Runner up went to Carl Briggs who had a score of 73 – 3 = 70 to reduce his handicap down to 2.4. Third place went to John Culleton who had an 85 – 12 = 73 Nett. Fourth place went to Steve Ball who had a 77 – 4 = 73 Nett. 100 players competed in the Subsidiary Medal alongside the Isherwood Final. The winner was Steve Lloyd who had a 77 – 8 = 69 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 6.5 after receiving an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5. Runner up was Graham Hartley who had a score of 81 – 10 = 71 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 9.5.
