Tuesday 26th August

53 ladies competed in the Olive Ashton Trophy in support of Macmillan this week with the format being a stableford competition. The winner was decided on a card playoff. Penny Sadler ran out eventual winner after scoring 36 Points with a good enough back nine to take the title. Runner up, also with 36 Points, was Helena McNeill.

Thursday 28th August

74 players turned out in this week's Thursday Roll Up with the format being a Yellow Tee Stableford. With lots of good scoring, the winner was Kevin O'Neill who had a score of 41 Points to edge out five other players by a single point. Kevin has been on a good run of form recently after finishing third several Thursday's back and as a result received an exceptional scoring reduction down to 7.4. Well done Kevin. The next four spots were decided on a card playoff as five players all had 40 Points. Runner up went to Mike Ashcroft who had the best back nine of the five players. Third place went to Bill Harrison. Fourth place went to Greg Osborne. Fifth place went to Roger Richards after his 40 Points had a better back nine to beat Darren Jones into the prizes.

Saturday 30th August

The July Medal and Isherwood Qualifier saw 166 players taking part. Division 1 winner was Walter Winstanley (hcp 12) with 65 nett. Runner up was Ian Pethybridge (hcp4) with 67 nett closely followed by Dan Young (hcp3) also with 67 nett on a card play-off. Division 2 winner was Ken Morgan (hcp15) with 70 nett. In 2nd place was Jon Gibson (hcp22) with 71 nett and 3rd was Keith Bolton (hcp19) with a 72 nett.

Sunday 31st August

There were two competitions running concurrently on Sunday. The Mixed Invitation was an Am-Am Stableford and the Men's Invitation was a Betterball Stableford.

The results of the competitions were:-

Mixed Am-Am Stableford

1st Place: Val Wickens, Garry Steed, Jean Warburton & Barrie Wickens with 87 points
2nd Place: Tony Faulkner, Mike Friar, Liz Faulkner & Sue Friar with 80 points

Men's Betterball Stableford

1st Place: John Warren & Alan Bennett 43 points (CPO Back 9 - 23) 
2nd Place: David Wilkinson & David Simpkins 43 points (CPO back 9 - 20) 
3rd Place: Trevor Rigby & Trevor Young 42 points
4th Place: Ron Hewitson & Giles Terry 41 points (CPO back 9 - 22)
