Competition news

Thursday, 6 June

This week’s competition was an individual White tee Stableford. Congratulations to Jim Farrell on shooting a great score of 41 points. In second place was Chris Peake scoring a good score of 40 points. In third was Rob Platt also with 40 points, and in fourth with 39 points was Ian Paginton.

9-Hole Competition

Congratulations to Stuart Tranter winning with a great score of 19 points beating Kevin Sands and Paul Swift on a card playoff.

Saturday, 8 June

This week’s competition was the June Medal. Congratulations to the winner of Division one and overall winner Rob Leigh with a fantastic score of nett 67. In second place was Jerry Hilditch with a great score of nett 70. In third place with a score of nett 70 was his brother Andy Hilditch, and in fourth place was Will Mackay with a score of nett 71.

Congratulations to the Division three winner Kevin Jenkins with a great score of nett 71. In second place with a good score of nett 73 was Bob Platt. In third place was John Peters also with nett 73, and in fourth place was Lester Scott with nett 73.

Sunday, 9 June

This week’s competition was the Queens Jubilee trophy for the men and ladies. Congratulations to Paul Marsh winning with a great score of 39 points. In second place with a score of 38 points was Damian Morris-Adams, and in third place with 37 points was Carl Briggs.

The Ladies Queen Jubilee was won by Sue Lunn winning with a great score of 36 points beating Cheryl Knight in second with 32 points, and in third place also with 32 points was Sheena Heseltine.

Monday, 10 June

This was the Captains away day at Manchester Golf Club, the format was a Betterball competition. Congratulations to Jim Boyd and Walter Winstanley with a great score of nett 42. In second place was Chris Gray and Neil Coulsen-Bence with a score of nett 40. In third place also with a nett 40 was Jon Monaghan and Ken Waters. We believe the course was in great condition and everyone was glad the rain stayed away.

Find the short stuff

If you’re an equipment junkie, there’s nothing quite like standing on the first tee clutching the latest driver – especially, with the marketing promise of faster ball speeds and greater distance firmly in your mind.
