Tuesday 25th November
The ladies played in a bisque par this week and thankfully it was a lovely day. First Division winner was Fiona Goddard (Hcp 11) with a score of 4 up. Division 2 winner was Pauline Cowell (Hcp 24) who had a score of 6 up. Division 3 winner was Gywneth Parry (hcp 31) who managed a score of 2 up.
Thursday 27th November
Another yellow tee stableford saw some good scores. In overall 1st place was Stan Marrs (hcp 20) with 41 points reducing handicap down to 18. Overall 2nd was Mark Austin (hcp -1) with 40 points reducing his handicap to +2. In 3rd on a card playoff was Terry Taylor (hcp 18) with 39 points reducing his handicap down to 17, who narrowly beat Tim McMahon (hcp 23) also on 39 points. 5th place went to Graham Hartley (hcp 11) with 38 points. Handicap reductions made are for the Thursday winter competitions only.
Saturday 29th November
This week's Saturday competition was a Waltz Stableford with 139 players competing in chilly but dry conditions. This week was the first of several 16 hole competitions due to daylight restrictions at this time of year. The winning team, who won by a margin of four points, consisted of David Carr, Paul Adamson, John Brassill & Mark Adams with a score of 77 Points. The remaining three places were closely contested. The runners up were the team of Gerry Hanberry, Bill Oxley, Andy Prince & Ben Perry who scored a total of 73 Points. Third spot, decided on a card playoff, went to Don Cock, Andrew Mackenzie, Ken Waters & James Garside who had 72 Points. Fourth place, also with 72 Points, went to Jack Bromley, Harry Croft, John McGlough & Keith Rodgers after a card playoff. The team consisting of Mike Goulden, Howard Johnson, Andrew Rimmer & Terry Taylor also had 72 Points but missed out on the prizes on a card playoff.
