Knockout Entries
A reminder that entries are now being taken in the Pro shop for the following knockout competitions for the upcoming season:
Men's: Match Prize & Swinton Trophy
Mixed: Scott Trophy
Ladies: Lyon Trophy and Sloane Bowl.
Competitions
Tuesday 3rd March
The ladies turned out in force on a beautiful Tuesday morning to support the new Lady Captain Jean Warburton when she drove into office. The ladies played a friendly match between a team representing the Lady Captain and the other supporting the Lady Vice Captain. The result of the match was a victory for the Lady Vice Captains team 15 to 14.
The winner of the guess the yardage competition was Pam White, the proceeds went to charity. The Lady Captains Charity is ''Assistance dogs for children and adults with physical disabilities and dogs and other services for families with a child affected by autism".
Thursday 5th March
This week's Thursday Yellow tee competition had 49 entrants. The winner was Matthew Penswick who managed a great score of 41 Points to win on a card playoff. Runner up went to Graham Scholes who also had 41Points. Third place went to Arthur Brown who had 39 Points and took it on a card playoff from Fourth placed Dan Young who had 39 Points. Fifth place went to Phil Wilkinson also with 39 Points.
Saturday 7th March
This week's Saturday competition was an Accumulator Stableford which was a drawn competition with 151 players competing. The winning team consisted of Tony James who along with Sam Maskery, Ray Moor and Steve Upham scored 85 Points to win on a card playoff. In second place were Mike Goulden , Howard Johnson, Derek Mchugh and Hesketh who also had a score of 85 Points. Third place went to the team of Richard Hamilton, Ian Heseltine, Andy Hilditch and John Warren who had 83 Points. The fourth spot went to Ian Gourlay, Phil Wilkinson, Tony Shaw and Greg Osborne who also had 83 Points..
The shop sale is coming to a close as the 2015 ranges of clothing, bags, shoes and clubs arrive. Make sure you avoid disappointment by calling in ASAP.
