Well done, especially as most of their round was played in the morning when the weather was fairly poor to say the least! Runners up were Derek Brown, Arthur Floyd, Steve Titchard & Iain Wright who also had a score of 81 Points. Third place went to David Moreton, Stan Rhodes, Nick Wild & Chris Dunn who managed a score of 80 Points. Saturday 4th April

This week's Saturday competition was the launch of this year's men's summer season with the bi-annual match of Captain v Vice Captain. The format was a Betterball Stableford with 199 players competing. The winning pair with a great score of 45 Points was Dave Fisher & Carl Briggs. Runners up were Iain Gourlay & Ian Cairns who had 43 Points. Third place went to Vice Captain Bill Hart & Ben Spanton who had 42 Points. Fourth place went to Richard Hamilton & David Lynas with 40 Points. Fifth place went to Paul Hockenhull & Steven Carroll who also had 40 Points but they lost out on a card playoff. Sixth place, also with 40 Points, but missing out on fifth on a card playoff was Phil Moreton & Stan Rhodes.

The match between the Captain & Vice Captain was an honourable draw at 25 - 25.

Captain's Drive In

Saturday 4th April also saw the traditional Captain's drive in which took place off the 11th tee. Mr Captain Steve Collier struck what he thought was a good drive only for his ball to clatter into the trees on the left of the fairway and drop down a measly 132 yards away! It must be noted that Lady Captain Jean Warburton managed to hit her drive 197 yards off the 1st tee with a 3 wood only a couple of weeks before!
