Tuesday 14th April
This week's ladies competition was the Coronation Foursomes with 52 players competing in pairs with the winners being eligible to compete in the area final at Rochdale GC on 27th July. The winners were Ann Unsworth & Lady Captain Jean Warburton who had 35 Points. Runners up went to Dot Campbell & Anne Smith who had 34 Points. Third place went to Paula Hodkinson & Yvonne Potter who also had 34 Points but lost out on the prizes on a card playoff. The winner of the nine hole individual stableford competition was Barbara Whitfield who had 16 Points.
Thursday 16th April
This week's Thursday Yellow tee competition had 101 entrants. The winner, with a great score, was Stuart Tranter who managed 44 Points. Stuart reduced his handicap down to 23.7. Runner up went to Graham Hartley who had 41 Points, reducing his handicap down to 9.7. Third place went to Mike Durkin who also had 41 Points but lost out on a card playoff. Mike reduced his handicap down to 17.7. Fourth place went to Tony Shaw who had 40 Points, reducing his handicap to 7.3. Fifth place went to Chris Bradburn after also having 40 Points but losing out to Tony in the card playoff. Chris reduced his handicap down to 16.4.
Saturday 18th April
This week's Saturday competition was an Individual Strokeplay with a large field of 202 players competing. The winner was Daniel Young who had a brilliant score of 65 - 2 = 63 to win by three shots. A fantastic gross score from Dan who reduced his handicap down to 1.5. Runner up spot was taken by Stuart Monro who had a score of 74 - 8 = 66. Stuart reduced his handicap down to 6.9 following this. Third place went to David Holt who had 78 - 12 = 66 but lost out to Stuart on a card playoff. David reduced his handicap down to 10.7. Fourth place went to Mark Wilding who shot 73 - 5 = 68 to reduced his handicap to 4.9. Fifth place went to Chris Webster who also had 73 - 5 = 68 but lost out on a card playoff. Chris managed to reduce his handicap down to 4.4. Sixth place went to Tony Owen who shot an 83 - 15 = 68 to reduce his handicap to 13.8. Seventh place went to Geoff Cox who had 79 - 10 = 69 to reduce his handicap to 9.6. Eighth and final place went to Steve Carroll who shot a 76 - 7 = 69 to lose out on a card playoff but reduced his handicap down to 6.2.
