Tuesday 21st April

This week's ladies competition was a Par competition with 53 players competing. The winner of Division 1 was decided on a card playoff with Ann Taylor having a score of All Square to beat Margaret Davies into second place after Ann had the better back nine. The winner of Division 2 was Elaine Jenkins who had a score of 1 Up but again only just did enough to win on a card playoff. Runner up was Lady Vice Captain Chris Collier who also had 1 Up but lost out on the card playoff. The winner of Division 3 was Jill Evans who had a great score of 3 Up which reduced her handicap down to 35.0. Runner up spot went to Shirley Warner who managed a score of All Square. The winner of the nine hole individual stableford competition was Gwyneth Parry who had a score of 16 Points.

Thursday 23rd April

This week's Thursday Yellow tee stableford competition had a massive 130 entrants! The winner, with 41 Points, was Paul Roberts. Paul reduced his handicap down to 17.8 following this score. Six players all had 40 Points so all the remaining places were decided on a card playoff. Runner up went to Jim Edwards who had the best of the back nine in the card playoff, reducing his handicap down to 10.5. Third place went to John Peters. John reduced his handicap down to 7.1. Fourth place went to Denis Walker, reducing his handicap to 15.0. Fifth place went to Mark Hunter after also having 40 Points. Mark reduced his handicap down to 9.2.

Saturday 25th April

This week's Saturday competition was the first of this year's Monthly Medal & Isherwood Qualifiers with a field of 183 players competing. The winner of Division 1 was Steve Whitfield who had a great score of 71 - 6 = 65. A very good gross score from Steve who reduced his handicap down to 4.8. Runner up spot was taken by Junior Captain Ben Wallis who had an even better gross score of 70 - 4 = 66. Ben reduced his handicap down to 3.6 following this. Third place went to David Moreton who had 74 - 5 = 69. David reduced his handicap down to 5.1. The winner of Division 2 was John Greaves who had a score of 81 - 14 = 67 to win on a card playoff. John managed to reduce his handicap down to 12.1. Runner up spot went to Mark Lyons who had an 82 - 15 = 67 to miss out on a card playoff. Mark reduced his handicap down to 13.1 following this. Third place went to Mal Jackson who had a score of 89 - 20 = 69. Mal reduced his handicap down to 19.0.

Spring Invitation

Just a reminder that there are still spaces left for entry into the Men's Spring Invitation being held on Sunday 24th May. This event is a Betterball Stableford with a member playing with their guest. The cost to enter is £15 per pair which is paid on the day. Breakfast menu will be available from 8.00am and the full clubhouse menu and specials will be available throughout the day. The entry sheet is available in the pro shop so either pop in or give us a call if you would like to put your name down.
