Friday 15th to Sunday 17th May
The Club was delighted to host one of the County's Major Events, The Cheshire Matchplay Championship. Five of our members took part Tony Osborne, Adam Mantle, Dan Young, Julian Hurst and Mike Haselden. The best performances were from Adam and Julian who both made it through to the last 16.The overall winner was Jon Beesley from The Mere who defended his title by beating Curtis Brockenbrow from Stockport in a thrilling final that went right to the 19th hole.
The Golf Club received many accolades especially for the exceptional condition and presentation of the golf course. The amount of work carried out by the green staff team led by our new Course Manager John Mcloughlin was the reason for this major transformation. John turned up for work with a severely burnt foot and hobbled round with half a shoe on for the majority of the week.
