THE ROAD TO ROYAL BIRKDALE
Warrington Golf Club and Halliwell Jones BMW joined forces during the first week of June running competitions which enabled our members the opportunity of playing at Royal Birkdale.
All members that competed were impressed with the display of luxury cars, and in particular the electric BMW i3 caused a stir for some to see a moving car but with no noise!
Halliwell Jones pushed the boat out with BMW branded golf bags for nearest the pin, and the use of a convertible for the weekend for nearest the pin in two. This was in addition to providing mouth-watering food at the half way house.
Winners Paula Hodkinson, John McGlough and James Goldthorpe will now go through to the Regional Finals of the BMW International Golf Cup at Royal Birkdale in August. If successful there, they would go through to the National Final at Turnberry, with the World Final being held in South Africa in 2016.
Special mention must be made of Trevor Rigby who had his first hole in one on the 16th!
