Sunday 28th June

This Sunday was this year's Club Championship which is a scratch medal held over 36 holes. This year there was a great turnout with 40 players competing. The leader after round 1 was Mike Haselden with a 69 which was enough to lead by two shots in blustery conditions. Dan Young and Derek McHugh were two behind after both having 71. Charlie Loy was a shot further back with a 72. Slightly better scoring in the afternoon meant for a close finale. Dan Young had a 74 to finish with 145. Jerry Hilditch had 72 + 73 = 143. Charlie Loy had a fantastic back nine of 5 under par to have 71 for round 2 which was enough to tie lead with Mike Haselden who had a 74 to finish on 143. Once again a playoff ensued for holes 9, 11 & 18. Over the three holes Mike finished as the winner and once again was crowned as the Club Champion. Congratulations Mike.
