Tuesday 8th September
This week's ladies competition was a Stableford competition with 43 competing. The winner of Division 1 was Dot Campbell who had a score of 34 Points. The runner up was Morag Hales who also had a score of 34 Points but losing out on a card playoff. The winner of Division 2 was Sue Tranter who had a score of 35 Points. The runner up was Gillian Ditchfield who had a score of 33 Points. The winner of Division 3 was Barbara Young who managed a score of 32 Points. The runner up was Cheryl Thorpe who also had a score of 32 Points to miss out on a card playoff. The winner of the 9 hole stableford competition was Sylvia Bennett who managed to score 9 Points to win by one point.
Thursday 10th September
This week's Thursday competition was a white tee medal with 74 players competing. The winner was John Warren who had a great score of 72 - 8 = 64 to win by one shot and reduce his handicap down to 6.4. Runner up was junior Jake Hibbert who had a great score of 70 - 5 = 65 to reduce his handicap down to 4.3. Third place went to Paul Robinson who had a score of 76 - 8 = 68 to reduce his handicap down to 6.9. Fourth place went to Andy Lockwood who had an 87 - 18 = 69 to reduce his handicap down to 17.1. Fifth place went to Adam Mantle who had a 72 - 2 = 70 to reduce his handicap down to 2.2 and beat Iain Gourlay out of the prizes on a card playoff.
Saturday 12th September
This week's Saturday competition was the Fairclough Trophy Round 1 with the second round being played next Saturday. Another day with low scoring and lots of handicap reductions. The winner was Mark Halliwell who posted a 72 -8 = 64 to reduce his handicap down to 6.6. Unfortunately Mark wasn't in the original draw so will be ineligible to win the overall prize. Runner up was Karl Irwin who had a 77 - 10 = 67. He has now been reduced to 8.1 following an exceptional scoring reduction of 10. Third place went to Adam Mannion who had a 75 - 8 = 67 to reduce his handicap down to 6.8. Fourth place went to Adam Mantle who had a 69 -2 = 67 to get reduced again to 1.8. Fifth place went to Mike Durkin who had an 83 - 16 = 67 to reduce his handicap down to 14.6. A quick mention for Jim Goldthorpe who received an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5 to come down to 15.8. Paul Robinson also received an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.6 to be reduced down to 5.5.
