Tuesday 15th September
This week's ladies competition was the Club Trophy, which is a major board competition, with 48 playing in the Bogey format. The winner was Sheena Heseltine who shot a great score of 4 Up which reduced her handicap down to 9.3. Runner up was Julia Hesketh who had a score of 3 Up which reduced his handicap down to 20.7. Third place went to Pat Maycock who also had a score of 3 Up which reduced her handicap down to 18.9 after losing out on a card playoff to Julia. Fourth place went to Anne Smith who had a score of 2 Up to reduce her handicap down to 19.6. The winner of the 9 hole stableford competition was Jean Cordwell who won with a score of 8 Points after beating Joyce Dennis on a card playoff.
Thursday 17th September
This week's Thursday competition had 67 players competing with the format being a yellow tee stableford. The winner was Don Wernham who had a great score of 43 Points. This score reduced is handicap down to 15.7. Runner up was Nick Wild who had 42 Points which reduced his handicap down to 4.6. Third place went to Dom Smith who had a score of 41 Points to reduce his handicap down to 5.7. Fourth place went to Will Mackay who also had 41 Points to reduce his handicap down to 3.3 but miss out on a card playoff for third place. Fifth place went to Bill Oxley who also had a score of 41 Points to reduce his handicap down to 17.7 but lose out on a card playoff.
Saturday 19th September
This Saturday was Round 2 of the Fairclough Trophy following on from round 1 last Saturday. The winner of Round 2 was Scott Rylance who had a good score of 67 Nett and as a result reduced his handicap to 7.8. Runner up of Round 2 was Stan Rhodes who also had a score of 67 Nett to reduce his handicap down to 13.5 after receiving an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5.

Round 1 Winner: Martin Halliwell - 64 Nett
Round 2 Winner: Scott Rylance - 67 Nett
Best Gross Score: Mike Haselden - 72 + 68 = 140
Fairclough Trophy Winner: Adam Mantle - 67 + 68 = 135 Nett
Congratulations go to Adam who put two very impressive rounds together with a 5 under gross back nine in the second round to beat Jim Goldthorpe by one shot after the two rounds and Steve Upham by three shots over the two rounds. This reduced Adam's handicap down to 1.5.
