Tuesday 22nd September

This week's ladies competition was the Medal Trophy Final & Subsidiary competition. This is a major board competition which had 46 ladies playing. The winner of the Medal Trophy Final was Julia Hesketh who shot a 92 - 21 = 71 to win by three shots. Congratulations go to Julia who reduced her handicap down to 20.0 following this score. Runner up spot went to Paula Hodkinson who had a 90 - 16 = 74. Margaret Davies finished in third place with a score of 89 - 15 = 74 to miss out on second place on a card playoff. The winner of the subsidiary competition was Val Wickens who shot an 82 - 7 = 75. Runner up went to Shirley Warner who shot a score of 107 - 31 = 76. Eight ladies entered the nine hole stableford competition with Jean Cordwell being the winner with a score of 11 Points.

Thursday 24th September

This week's Thursday competition was a white tee medal with 85 players competing. The winner was Bob Savage who had a great score of 88 - 23 = 65 to reduce his handicap down to 20.9. Runner up was Julian Hardiman who also had a great score of 78 - 13 = 65 to lose out to Bob on a card playoff and reduce his handicap down to 10.7 following an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5. Third place went to Julian Hurst who had a score of 68 - 2 = 66 to reduce his handicap down to 1.0. Fourth place went to Kev Bannon who had a 72 - 5 = 67 to reduce his handicap down to 4.1. Fifth place went to Steve Daniels who had a 73 - 6 = 67 to lost out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 5.4.

Saturday 26th September

This week's Saturday competition was an Individual Strokeplay with 159 playing on a glorious day. The winner of Division 1 was Rob Smith who had a score of 76 - 9 = 67 to win on a card playoff and reduce his handicap down to 7.9. Runner up went to Mike Goulden who had a score of 78 - 11 = 67 to miss out in the card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 9.9. Third place went to James Eaves who shot a 72 - 5 = 67 to also miss out on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 4.8. Fourth place went to Nick Wild who shot a 78 - 11 = 67 to miss out in the card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 8.9 after receiving an exceptional scoring reduction. The winner of Division 2 was John Edelston who shot an 85 - 19 = 66 to reduce his handicap down to 17.1. Runner up went to Ken Waters who shot a 93 - 24 = 69 to reduce his handicap down to 22.9. Third place went to Mike Reid who shot a 90 - 20 = 70 to reduce his handicap down to 19.3. Fourth place went to Alan Lynch who lost out on a card playoff after having an 83 - 13 = 70 to reduce his handicap down to 12.9.

Sunday 27th September

Sunday 29th September was Knock-out Finals Day. The players were blessed with wonderful conditions and the course was in great shape.

Junior Foursomes Knockout Winners: Tom Murphy & Matt Caldwell 
Junior Singles Knockout Winner: James Walsh 
Ladies Singles Lyon Trophy Winner: Anne Smith 
The ladies singles Lyon Trophy match included a rare feat in that Anne Smith had a hole in one on the 16th hole. Congratulations go to Anne.
