Tuesday 29th September
This week was our ladies exchange day with our ladies going over to play Knutsford Golf Club and Knutsford's ladies coming to play Warrington. 57 ladies made the trip with the format being an Am-Am Stableford. The winning team consisted of Ann Unsworth, Lady Captain Jean Warburton, Fiona Davies & Shirley Warner who had a score of 83 Points to win on a card playoff over the back nine holes. Runners up were Val Wickens, Jane Sands & Barbara Young who also had 83 Points to lose out on the card playoff. Third place went to the team of Margaret Marsden, Di Scholes & Gizelle Stockton who had a score of 82 Points to take the last prize winning place on a card playoff. Nearest the Pin prizes went to Georgina Hales & Elaine Bilton.
Thursday 1st October
This week's Thursday competition had 78 players competing with the format being a yellow tee stableford. The winner was John Hill who had a brilliant score of 46 Points to win by three points. This score reduced John's handicap down to 11.2 after receiving an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5. Runner up was David McHugh who had a great score of 43 Points which reduced his handicap down to 4.1. Third place went to James Eaves who had a score of 41 Points to reduce his handicap down to 4.4. Fourth place went to Darren Jones who also had 41 Points to reduce his handicap down to 17.2 but miss out on a card playoff for third place. Fifth place went to junior Aaron Beesley who had a score of 40 Points, with a good enough back nine to beat Paul Fellows on a card playoff, to reduce his handicap down to 16.6.
Saturday 3rd October
This Saturday's competition was due to be the Isherwood Final & Medal of which players try to qualify for throughout the season in the Monthly Medal's for a chance to compete for the Isherwood trophy. However, unfortunately due to thick fog for the first few hours of the morning, the decision was made to reschedule the Isherwood Final for a fortnight's time and just run an individual medal. In the end there were 103 players who competed. The winner was Trevor Rigby who shot a very good score of 74 - 9 = 65 to win by one shot. This score reduced Trevor's handicap down to 7.4 after receiving an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5. The runner up was Bill Oxley who shot an 84 - 18 = 66 to reduce his handicap down to 15.5 after also receiving an exceptional scoring reduction of 0.5. Third place went to junior Jake Hibbert who shot a 71 - 4 = 67 to bring his ever falling handicap down to 3.6. Fourth place went to Ian Heseltine who shot an 86 - 18 = 68 to reduce his handicap down to 16.7. Fifth place went to Ian Pethybridge who shot a 72 - 4 = 68 to miss out on fourth place on a card playoff but reduce his handicap down to 3.6. Sixth and final place went to David Holt who shot an 80 - 11 = 69 to reduce his handicap down to 10.1
